Meath Senior Champ Final this Sat!   02/10/2017

Masita Senior Championship Final:

The 2017 Masita Senior Championship has all but finished for 2017. The ultimate prize of Meath Senior Champions is now up for grabs.

The first semi final was an all out battle by last year’s Intermediate champions Royal Gaels and 2015 losing finalists Oldcastle. The game was end to end from start to finish. Indeed after the hour both sides were level and the game went into extra time. Oldcastle immerged victorious by just the three points to ensure their place in only their second senior final.

In a replay of the 2016 final Boardsmill were too strong for an out of sorts St. Ultans on the night. The ‘Mill’ got off to the perfect start and ran up a 2 - 07 to three point’s scoreline by the end of the first half. It was just too much for the Ultans girls to claw back and Boardsmill would run out 2-13 to seven point winners on the day. Boardsmill will be hoping its ‘’third time lucky’’ on the day.

Depending on which teams show up on the day we could be in for a titanic battle. Both sides have strong ‘’point scoring’’ players with the ever present goal poachers also. Bridgetta Lynch for Oldcastle and Caroline Quinn for the Boardsmill side are renowned for their goal scoring prowess. Both clubs will be looking to put a new name on the senior championship cup.
