Dublin crowned Champions yet again and complete 4 in a row, however they didn't get

it all their own way as a spirited Westmeath stood up to the Champions. Dublin's experience held the day and while they were never headed the challengers kept in touch and held Dublin scoreless for 14 minutes in the second half and got the score difference down to two points before Dublin finished strongly to retain their title.

 

INTERMEDIATE

Favourites Kildare many of their supporters on the edge of the seat as they conceeded

5 goals to allow Offaly stay in touch throughout the game. Kildare gave an exhibition of

points scoring all game and everytime they built a lead Offaly struck back with some very well worked goals. The faithful county even hit the post and crossbar as their piled forward but kildare held on for the victory.

Louth romped to an easy win over Carlow in the opening game of the day, Carlow had some good individual performances. Louth were stronger all over the pitch and deserved their victory.
